Art Riot (2015-2016)

Art Riot (2015-2016) was a performance followed by a graduate teaching assistant publication and an exhibition, to which I contributed as an artist and practice-led researcher. I took photos during the initial riot performance, which I combined with text written by Lana Locke for the publication. Lana Locke wrote, (2016), ‘In the aftermath of the shock Conservative Party victory in May 2015, Art Riot called on artists and art students to bring or perform an artwork on 20 June 2015 at the Bank of England in a gathering and marching of a multitude of artworks as part of the End Austerity Now march. Any kind of portable, wearable or performable artwork was acceptable.’ We later exhibited the publication the our original artworks in an exhibition at Chelsea College of Art.
